Professional standards showing cogs being put together

Professional
Standards

A central part of our work is to set and monitor professional standards for Psychosexual and Relationship Therapies.  This sees our organisation protect the public from, for example, improper conduct, unfitness and incompetence.  All Members must abide by a Code of Ethics, and we consider complaints in line with our Conduct Procedure.

public registers showing a rotating card index

Public
Registers

We hold two national registers of therapists – one for Psychosexual and Relationship Therapists, and another for Relationship Therapists.  This is to protect the public, and to provide public confidence in the professions we regulate.  Only therapists who meet our exacting standards and training requirements can be on our registers.  We also hold a register for specially trained supervisors and a public listing of all student Members.
