Biography

I specialise in couples counselling, relationship counselling for individuals and psychosexual therapy for couples and individuals experiencing sexual difficulties.
My style of working is integrative, blending psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural techniques.

I have a ‘bio-psycho-social’ approach to sexual problems, integrating all areas that need consideration, such as biological, psychological and social factors.
I offer my clients the space to practise talking about sex and to discover more about their own sexual world, without judgement.

People often encounter sexual problems to do with desire, arousal and orgasm, but as human beings are all unique, sexual problems can present in different ways that might seem uncommon, but that’s okay.

Some common sexual difficulties I offer help to address are:

Loss of libido or lack of sexual desire (if that’s a problem). Sex in long-term relationships goes through fits and starts, as well as ‘stops’. All is not lost!

Erectile difficulties

Premature/early ejaculation

Inability/difficulty reaching orgasm (anorgasmia), delayed/absent ejaculation

Vaginismus/dyspareunia & painful sex

Sexual phobias or body-image issues

Difficulties with intimacy and closeness.

These issues may be life-long or acquired; human sexual functioning is precarious territory and can be hugely affected by external factors, such as anxiety, life-changing events, illness and ageing.

As a couples counsellor/relationship therapist, I can offer help in addressing common relationship problems, such as infidelity, conflict, communication problems, family relationships, low confidence & self-esteem, depression & anxiety and misunderstanding each other. Perhaps you want to settle down in a relationship, but can’t seem to find the ‘right’ partner, or are avoiding closeness.

If you are experiencing sexual or relationship difficulties, please do get in touch.

Sessions are 50 minutes. Fees for couples and individuals: £100.

I offer face-to-face sessions. In exceptional circumstances, sessions may also take place online via Zoom.
