Biography

Navigating around life, work, family, relationships and sex, most of us at some point will find ourselves in a situation where we might benefit from some extra support. I work with individuals, couples and families with both a relational and individual focus.

I am qualified and experienced Psychosexual & Relationship Psychotherapist. I am a BACP (Accredited Member),  & COSRT (Accredited Member) & ATSAC (Qualified Member). Alongside my Private Practice, I have previously worked with Relate, the NHS, local Hospices and a Sexual Assault Support Centre. I also work with sex addiction (including support for partners and families). I have an approachable, warm & empathic approach and clients feed back that they find this incredibly helpful.

Psychosexual Therapy
Psychosexual Therapy focuses on sexual and intimacy issues both in your relationship and on an individual basis. I work with psychosexual issues such as Erectile Dysfunction, Premature Ejaculation, Vaginismus, Orgasmic Problems, Painful Sex, Desire Discrepancies, Sex Addiction (and Partner Work ), and the impact of trauma on the sexual self and relationship .

Sex addiction & Partner Support.Sex Addiction & Compulsive Behaviours
Do you or your partner feel your use of internet pornography; masturbation; cyber-sex or chat rooms, has become excessive, preoccupying or no longer acceptable? Are your online or sexual behaviours impacting your sense of self, your relationship, family or work life? I can help you to explore these issues to gain a better understanding of your behaviour, support with change, and increase your overall sense of well-being. I also can offer support to partners & families of those who have a compulsive sexual issue.

Individual; Couple Counselling & Family Therapy
I work with individuals, couples (couple counselling) and families (family therapy), covering a wide range of issues such as:

communication difficulties (within the couple relationship & the wider family); low self esteem & confidence issues; adapting to change; trust & jealousy issues; effects of past relationships; trauma; the impact of sexual abuse and sexual violence; parenting challenges; stress & anxiety; depression; work difficulties; the impact of addiction; grief & loss; gender & sexuality; affairs; and coming to terms with the ending of a relationship.

Working Together

It’s a big decision to take the first step on your therapy journey. Clients often say that they wish they had done it sooner and that they quickly felt comfortable and at ease. I work in a relational way, which means I value building our therapeutic relationship together. I can provide support to enable you to process and navigate around your situation. We can together, explore your issues in a sensitive, but productive way. The therapy process can help to try to make sense of what’s gone before; rebuild confidence and self esteem, achieve a more effective way of communicating and establish resilience for the future. Clients often say that it is helpful to have a place to take time for themselves, and to reflect on their own needs.

I offer long, medium and short term counselling and therapy and together we will explore during an initial assessment, which is the most beneficial for your situation.

I am currently working online via Zoom and have availability Monday-Wednesday, daytime only.
