| Biography | I work with clients having sexual and /or relationship difficulties. I currently work as a therapist and senior nurse within the NHS plus I have a private therapy practice. I am a very experienced sex and relationship therapist. I work within the codes of conduct set by COSRT and NMC, I aim to work with you to create an individual programme that suits you. This will evolve as we proceed, and be reviewed as we go along, with you informing what we do. My aim is to relieve your distress and increase your confidence as a sexual person. I can also offer single sessions. I work with different relational states, for example; conflict, infidelity, monogamy, polyamory, communication, events from the lifetime of a relationship and endings, finding and maintaining intimate relationships, managing guilt and shame, trauma, and anxiety. I completed the London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relational Therapy in 2015, prior to that I had been involved with the Association of Psychosexual Nurses. I have been a Nurse since the early 1980’s and have worked with the in-patient setting, out- patients and in the community. I have worked within Gynaecology and sexual health for most of my career. I have been a psychosexual therapist since 2006. I currently work within a community Sexual Health clinic providing a senior nursing role and managing the psychosexual therapy for the service. |
| Types of Therapy Used | Integrative model of therapy, an approach that includes narrative, behavioural and Gestalt techniques. My medical knowledge of health and illness, medication and how the body works is also very useful. |
| Issues Dealt With | I have experience with many issues, for example but not restricted to; Libido issues, desire, painful sex, sexual issues related to ageing, the menopause and other health conditions, erection difficulties, difficulties with orgasm, premature/ delayed ejaculation. I see couples who are having relational difficulties, for example, communication, infidelity and conflict, adjustment to having a family, past trauma, struggles within the couple as a result of sexual issues. Couple issues relating to fertility and building a family. |
