Biography

Susan has been a Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapist for 28 years, both in the NHS (until 2008) and in private practice in central London. In 2018 she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Couple Psychotherapy by Tavistock Relationships and the University of East London, having undertaken original research in couple psychotherapy, sexual relationships and sex therapy.
A former Trustee of COSRT and former Secretary of the Council of the British Society for Sexual Medicine, Susan has presented at and co-organised many national and international professional conferences. Susan was on the editorial board of the “International Journal of Sexual and Relationship Therapy” for several years and a reviewer for the “Journal of Sexual Medicine”. Susan is a published author on a wide range of topics concerning sexuality and relationships, including sensate focus, the medicalisation of sex, couples and the first baby, circumcision, female genital mutilation, and step-parenting.
