Biography

Relationship & Emotional Wellbeing (face to face therapy, telephone and online counselling). I am an experienced and qualified counsellor who provides support to both individuals and couples.  Counselling can be offered in different ways to suit client needs.  I see clients in person at my premises at St Catherine’s House, Woodfield Park, Tickhill Road, Doncaster DN4 8QP which provides a beautiful location complete with tea room and walled garden.  In addition, counselling can be offered online, through webcam (which can be done through a smartphone, laptop or desktop) by following a simple email link, or by telephone or online live chat.  I hope therefore to make counselling as accessible as possible to many clients who otherwise may struggle getting to a therapy room.

You will see from my training that I am qualified in relationship counselling, sex therapy and emotional eating.  You may be experiencing sexual difficulties or relationship difficulties and may be in a relationship or single. Or perhaps you are struggling with sticking to a diet and have a tendency to binge eat to cheer yourself up or reward yourself and recognise you may use food as a way of managing your emotions when you are not hungry.  Any of these issues are within my professional remit.

My style of counselling is integrated which means I adopt the core principles of person centred counselling which is around being non judgmental, empathic and genuine, however I also work to systemic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural models of therapy too.   I work with clients to explore and overcome their difficulties and for some issues a structured treatment/therapy plan works better. Sometimes in couple work, each partner’s agenda may be different and it is about being open about that and helping clients reach the best outcome possible.

I realise that accessing counselling for the first time can feel daunting and it is a bit like walking into the unknown but I hope that you will start to feel comfortable talking about your issues. Sometimes within a counselling process it can feel challenging emotionally but hopefully by understanding your situation better and making sense of what you are finding difficult, it will enable you to progress and seek the changes you may be looking for.

I look forward to hearing from you. For more information, my website is https://relationshipwellbeinguk.co.uk
